These elections are an opportunity for you as a candidate to make strong commitments to ensure that Europe’s more than 50 million disabled people can fully enjoy their social, economic and political rights.

Voters with disabilities, their families and friends can make the difference

Disabled people make up at least 15% of the population and at least one in four people has a disabled family member. Allies such as families, friends, colleagues and assistants want society to fully respect the rights of disabled people. In your capacity of candidate MEP, we call on you to listen and address our demands and join us in fighting for disability rights.

The most recent and prominent example of the significance of the presence of the disability issues in the electoral campaign are the US elections in which the commitments of the winning candidate to solving problems of disabled people also influenced the vote turnout and results.
